Embrace the Darkness
The Darkness surrounds me,
and in it I am free.
In the light I hide,
what to the night I cried.
Only the night knows what I am,
and only it can understand.
To the Day I am damned,
so I embrace the Darkness.
The pains I have seen,
that have made me unclean.
My world is filled with sorrow,
always I dread the marrow.
For years this truth I ran from,
I refused to see the sum.
Now my heart is numb,
so I embrace the Darkness.
Shrouded in my tortured soul,
which the Sun did not condole.
To the Shadows I surrend,
my twisted form they do mend.
I hide by Day,
at Night I pray,
to fade away,
and embrace the Darkness.
